6 tips to boost your daily energy level

Now that summer period slowly comes to an end and our lives and schedules get somewhat back to what they were before we seem busier than ever. As a result, we often feel drained and tired. Here at Braav we've listed some tips to help you boost your daily energy levels.

1. Get more sleep

It's no secret that a lack of sleep can leave you feeling grumpy and tired. It's recommended you need to have about 7 hours of sleep every night. However this is just a general estimate, and it might perfectly be that you personally need a couple of hours more. Try to find out your ideal amount of sleep just by keeping a sleep diary for a week. How many hours did you sleep and how did you feel throughout the day? By getting these insights you'll quickly learn your ideal amount of sleep for you to perform at your best. Having trouble falling asleep in the evening? Read our tips on how to improve your sleep quality.

2. Reduce stress

As our article "5 things you should know about stress" indicates, stress can have quite a negative impact on how we feel and perform. Try to limit your stress levels by taking some time for yourself: whether that is reading a book or going for a short walk around the corner. You could also try meditation in order to reduce your anxiety.

3. Move more

While at the end of a busy day, the last thing you'll probably want to do is put on your gym clothes and go for a workout. You'll actually see when doing this you'll boost your endorphin levels and you'll get back the energy and state of mind that you're able to conquer the world.

4. Limit Alcohol

After a hectic day, you might easily feel you deserved that glass of wine in order to fully unwind. While you surely deserve some wine from time to time, it's important to limit your alcohol consumption. It's no secret that alcohol can interfere with the quality of your sleep. This could make you feel more tired than you otherwise would be.

5. Stay hydrated

Dehydration can impact your brain function, mood and energy levels. At least try to drink between 1,5 too 2 liters of water each day. If you're having difficulties with drinking this amount of water, try infusing it with some fresh fruit. This gives a bit of taste and it looks nice on your desk, which will make you want to drink it even more ;-).

6. Be social

Although you sometimes might feel like the only thing you'll want to do is plunge on the couch and binge-watch another Netflix serie. While it's perfectly ok to do this once in a while try not to give in to that feeling every time. Social isolation can cause low mood and feel tired. In that case, it can be very helpful to just get out and socialize. A good talk with some friends can do wonders for your overall wellbeing.
